Designer Tip: Cut the leather in half. Using the smallest setting (5/64 inch) on the leather punch, punch a hole about 3/8 inch from the end of the leather. Insert through the bracelet bar and fold over. Using a pen or sharp tool, use the first hole as a guide to mark the position of the second hole (typically between 7/8-1 inch from the first hole) and punch it.. Insert the rivet through both holes and set, making sure that the bracelet bar is positioned off the bench block. Repeat on other side. Determine the size of the bracelet (remember that the clasp will add about ½ inch) and fold the leather over and press to form a crease. Trim the leather about ¾ inch from the crease. Insert one end through the slot in the clasp and punch holes and secure with a rivet as above. Repeat on other side, forming a loop that the hook part of the clasp can fit into.
