Designer Tip: Cut 1mm leather in half. On one piece, tie an overhand knot no less than 1 inches from the end. String on a group of pewter beads (4-20) and tie another overhand knot on the other side of the group. Repeat twice, ensuring that all knots fall within a 7 inch range. Repeat with second piece of leather. Try to position bead groups on the two strands so they are staggered. Trim cords to 8 inches. Cut both 2mm leather pieces in half. When preparing to glue all leather pieces into clasp, line the strands up as desired and tape the strands together, with about 1/8 inches tape on the strands. Trim excess tape and glue taped unit into clasp. An alternative is to line up and glue half the strands first, followed by the second half. Before gluing the second side, check the fit and trim if necessary.
