Designer Tip: Cut the leather into two 4 inch and two 5 1/2 inch pieces. Using the two shorter pieces, mark and punch (using the smallest setting on the leather punch, 5/64 inch) holes 1/8 inch and I inch from each end of the cord. Use 4 rivets to set the two lengths of cord into one side of the bar on one end the closed loop of the clasp on the other end. For the longer pieces of cord, mark and punch holes 1/8 inch and 1 inches from one end. Use two rivets to form the loops for the open side of the clasp. Before marking and punching the remaining cord ends, insert the clasp into the loops just formed and insert the leather through the other side of the slider. Check size and trim cord if needed to ensure a good size before marking and punching holes 1/8 inch and 1 inch from the cord ends and riveting the cord into the other side of the slider.
